COLORADO POULTRY CLINIC
May 7 & 8 are the dates for the 2010 Clinic. The Fountain Mesa Wranglers requested a clinic to be held at the Fountain Mesa Feed Store. Due to families spending time together on Mother's Day the typical 3 day clinic schedule will be reduced to two days.
The clinic is designed for children and adults and follows guidelines set by the following organizations:

- APA/ABA Youth Program
- National 4-H Poultry Project Books
- National 4-H Poultry & Egg Conference
The clinic offers information concerning a braod variety of poultry topics including:

What's Going On? This Clinic will focus on the Raising of Market Poultry. An APA sanctioned show will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 2010. At which time the judge will interact with participants answering questions concerning show organization and placement of birds. Schedule Friday, May 7 6:00-6:45 pm "PICKY! PICKY!" How to pick a bird. Breeds/Strains/Hatcheries 6:45-7:30 pm Hot Dogs - sponsored by Fountain Mesa Feed. 7:30 - 9:00 pm "Build a Bird" Activity - Take the knowledge you have to create a breed. Saturday, May 8 8:00-8:30 am How to Judge live meat birds. 8:45-9:45 am Live Meat Bird Judging Competition 10:00-10:45 am Show organization - includes overview of entries/forms/showroom set-up. 11:00 am All birds for the show available for cooping. 11:30 am Awards for Live Meat Bird Judging Competition 11:45 -12:45 Lunch Break 1:00 am Judging begins 3:00 - 3:45 pm "FEED ME!" - Nutritional components of a birds diet. 4:00 - 4:15 pm Show awards 4:30 pm BBQ sponsored by Hillbilly Farms 5:30-6:15 pm Energy Balance 6:30-7:15 pm Feeding Market birds - diet and growth issues Kits will be available for making a transportation box for birds - $5.00
